Mira Gandy is a native New Yorker who resides in Los Angeles, California. After Graduating from Music and Art High school in New York City, she studied Art History at the American College in Paris.

Mira's creates mixed media paintings of Figurative and Abstract art. Combining Acrylic, Pastel, natural paper and photographs. She creates expressionistic paintings of women in a moment of thought and reflection and abstracts based on the natural elements and the continuous movement of life itself.

She says, "My artistic inspiration comes from a variety of places. My personal experiences, spirituality and imagination. Women I have met in my travels, events in the media, artists Gauguin, Rousseau and Caribbean and Mexican Art."

Exhibiting since 1987, her notable shows include "With a Child's Heart" with Synthia Saint-James, Los Angeles. Exhibitions with Russell and Danny Simmons' Rush fine Arts, in New York City "Our Diversity, Our City, Our People, Our Art!" at El Pueblo Gallery, on historic Olvera Street in Los Angeles and Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery in Barnsdall Park.
